With our introduction to British basketball in 2018 it became immediately apparent that the sport had two major, systemic problems – the first was that the sport was terribly underfunded and the second was that it lacked diversity. We started to work at the grassroots level and were able to leverage the London Lions Foundation. Together with the Foundation we are working to increase inclusion and promote the amazing sport of basketball through community and school-based programs and working to increase government funding for the sport.

It has been at times a home, a family, and often a leader for equality and justice, it was the first top-tier football club in Rio de Janeiro to hire a black athlete. This spirit lives on today with their first-in-the-sport campaign promoting LGBTQ+ awareness. We believe in Vasco da Gama’s efforts to drive change and are proud to be on their team.
