Thomas F. Staz
Mr. Staz recently founded 1221 Partners, a Miami based private equity firm. He is currently managing Partner of Brazil Tower Company, LP, an 1848 Capital Partners LLC managed investment. Prior to founding 1221 Partners, Mr. Staz was a partner at 1848 Capital Partners where he helped manage 1848’s control investments in Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museums in New York City and London and managed the capital raising process for Eastern Air Lines Inc., formerly an 1848 control investment. Prior to 1848, Mr. Staz served as a Director of Business Development at TOA Technologies Inc. (recently acquired by Oracle), a global cloud-based software company which focused on driving efficiencies and customer experience improvements for service and delivery businesses. Prior to TOA, Mr. Staz spent 13 years as an investment banker with UBS, PaineWebber and Smith Barney Inc. where he focused on bond issues and bond-based derivative products for large public sector utilities and transportation agencies across the U.S. In 1998, Mr. Staz founded and served as President of Pacific Capital Partners LLC, a hedge fund catering to high net worth individuals and focused on leveraged derivative investments in fast growing technology and internet infrastructure companies. Mr. Staz is a graduate of Dartmouth College with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences.
